I had the opportunity to experience Level 1 YOD Teacher Training at Minnesota Power Yoga a few weeks ago. YOD is this amazing workout that combines the tranquility of a traditional power yoga class with the strength and power of High Intensity Interval Training (HIIT). If you’ve spent any amount of time with me in the last 6 months, you’ve definitely heard me talk about how much I love this class.
YOD is the brainchild of Danielle Jokinen. She founded the class on 3 powerful principles that make the experience of YOD incredibly transformative. Today, I want to focus on one that stood out in particular. And that is…
“Be a yes.”
It got me thinking about what I’m a “yes” for. I also realized that in order to be a “yes” for something, you have to be a “no” for something else.
For example, if you’re a “yes” for becoming a successful business owner, you’ll be a “no” for binge watching TV every single night.
If you’re a “yes” for self-love, you’re going to be a “no” for people pleasing.
If you’re a “yes” for health, you’ll have to say “no” to heavy drinking and junk food.
Your life is a compilation of the choices you make. According to this article, you make an average of 35,000 decisions throughout the course of just 1 day. And these guys are saying you’ll make around 773,618 decisions in your lifetime.
So how do you ensure you’re making the right choices, time and time again? I think it’s easier to take the path that’s best for you when you know what you want and where you want to go. That brings me back to the question…
What are you a “yes” for?
Go forth. Determine what kind of life you want to manifest. Be a “yes” for all the positive, luscious, illuminating things you want to surround yourself with. And be prepared to be a “no” for the 1,000s of other things that are out of alignment with those dreams.
