moved back in with my parents for the summer between my freshman and sophomore year of college. They graciously rehired me at the local coffee shop I worked at throughout high school.
The plan was to move to Uptown, Minneapolis at the end of August when school started back up again. I knew I wanted to live alone in an affordable apartment with excellent walk-ability. In addition, I desired a part-time job at a cool cafe where I would make decent money and meet new friends.
Why did I want these things? Because I wanted to live somewhere I enjoyed living. And I wanted to make money so I could afford fun activities, buy new clothes and build my savings account.
One day, I started networking with a customer at the coffee shop. She was from the Twin Cities, visiting her family cabin for the week. I mentioned I was a college student looking for work in Minneapolis. She told me I needed to check out Lucia’s. In fact, she had an application in her folder!
My dad and I journeyed to Uptown the following weekend to secure a lease and find me a new job. I showed up to Lucia’s with the completed application and told the manager (who just so happened to be working that afternoon) the story about the woman who referred me. She literally said, “I think it’s meant to be!” and hired me on the spot.
Magical, right?! Well…kind of.
I do believe I manifested this amazing opportunity using a very simple technique I’m about to share with you. This is a method I’ve borrowed from New Age thought leaders like Abraham-Hicks, Gabrielle Bernstein and others who share similar philosophies around co-creating your life.
The 6-step Manifestation Process:
Figure out WHAT you want.
Clarify WHY you want it.
BELIEVE what you want is on its way.
Get EMOTIONAL by feeling excited and enthusiastic for its arrival (think: 6-year-old kid on Christmas morning waiting to open presents).
LET GO of the “how” and the “when.” This is the magical part that’s completely out of your control.
Keep your eyes and ears OPEN for signs and signals leading you to the prize.
In short, you have the ability to create your heart’s desire. The Universe wants to help you realize the reality of your dreams. I know it’s true because it’s happened so many times in my life. You simply need to know what you want and why you want it. It’s not your business to figure out how and when it shows up.
Now I turn it over to you…
What do you want? Why do you want it? Write it down. Create a vision board. Tell your friends. And feel confident knowing it (or something even better) will come in the right way at the perfect time…
Making dreams come true,
PS. Huge shout out to Lucia’s for being the catalyst in creating connections and a community that made Minneapolis truly feel like home. It was the gateway to countless opportunities I can’t give enough thanks for. If you’re local, check it out! Try the chocolate sea salt cookie. 😉
